Reaching Rural Veterans is a collaboration with faith-based food pantries in rural areas, bringing communities together to provide resources and services that address the needs of military and veteran families. Addressing needs for food, shelter and employment can establish relationships and build trust that can lead to stronger bonds between faith-based communities and the military and veteran population.
This program is made possible in part by a grant from the Bob Woodruff Foundation, which is dedicated to ensuring that impacted veterans, service members, their families, and their caregivers thrive long after they return home.
Reaching Rural Veterans launched in March 2021 in five counties in Illinois. For more information, please email Rena Sterrett rsterret@purdue.edu.
