I treated an adolescent whose father was recently discharged from the military. My ability to understand the father's experience was critical in helping his father to develop parenting skills.

The Battlemind to Home Summit gave me context with every vet I have worked with. It was also helpful to learn about the Warrior Code and how to frame things as challenges or getting the mission done to increase motivation for treatment.
