Battlemind to Home VI Symposium

The Roudebush VA Medical Center, Indiana National Guard, Department of Veterans Affairs, and the Military Family Research Institute at Purdue University are pleased to present the Battlemind to Home VI Symposium, on Wednesday and Thursday, August 19-20, 2015. Once again, the event will be held at the Indianapolis Marriott East, located at 7202 E. 21st Street, Indianapolis, IN.

Each year, roughly 400 community leaders, behavioral health providers and more, representing 100 organizations from Indiana and beyond, gather to improve their knowledge about military and veteran families and connect the systems that best support them. Sessions focus on topics ranging from family reunification to mental and physical health, social adjustment issues and others. Now approaching its sixth year, Battlemind has developed a reputation for helping community partners gain greater appreciation and understanding of the challenges facing returning combat veterans and their families, and have sparked increased community interest in joint collaborations for further enhancing care for veterans.

Registration for this educationally-rich experience opens on Monday, May 4 and is expected to fill quickly. Attendees receive breakfast and lunch on both days, and all symposium materials.

As the financial climate surrounding veteran issues continues to change, our goal is to diversify our funding sources to allow Battlemind to become sustainable on its own and continue to serve those who serve veterans. As such, the registration fee for this year’s event will be $30 per participant.
