Battlemind to Home Mental Health Summit 2016

The Military Family Research Institute, in partnership with the Roudebush VA Medical Center, Indiana National Guard and the Department of Veterans Affairs are pleased to present the Battlemind to Home Mental Health Summit, on Thursday, September 22, 2016. The event will be held at the Indianapolis Marriott East, located at 7202 E. 21st Street, Indianapolis, Indiana.

Please note: We are at capacity for the event. Please register to be added to the waitlist. We will contact you if an opening becomes available.

Each year, roughly 400 community leaders, behavioral health providers and more, representing 100 organizations from Indiana and beyond, gather to improve their knowledge about military and veteran families and connect the systems that best support them. Sessions focus on topics ranging from family reunification to mental and physical health, social adjustment issues and others. Now in its seventh year, Battlemind has developed a reputation for helping community partners gain greater appreciation and understanding of the challenges facing returning combat veterans and their families, and have sparked increased community interest in joint collaborations for further enhancing care for veterans. The event is being held on the 22nd of the month to raise awareness about the fact that 22 veterans commit suicide each day. Please join the conversation on social media using #22toomany to learn more about this topic.

Registration for this educationally-rich experience opens on June 6, 2016 and is expected to fill quickly. Attendees receive breakfast and lunch, all symposium materials and continuing education credits (CEUs).

As the financial climate surrounding veteran issues continues to change, our goal is to diversify our funding sources to allow Battlemind to become sustainable on its own and continue to serve those who serve veterans. As such, the registration fee for this year’s event will be $35 per attendee.

A room block at the Marriott East is available. Please visit the Hotel tab for more information.
