A Overview of VA Resources for Veterans: What Faith-based, Community, and Nonprofit Organization Need to Know

May 29, 2014 - May 29, 2014

Presentations for this event are now online.

The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA)  Center for Faith-based and Neighborhood Partnerships (CFBNP), Benefits Assistance Service (BAS) and Indianapolis Regional Office  invites you to participate in a collaborative faith-based community outreach event titled “An Overview of VA Resources for Veterans: What Faith-based, Community, and Nonprofit Organizations Need to Know.” The event is scheduled for May 29, 2014 from 7:45 am- 4:00 pm.  It will take place at Ivy Tech Community College, 2357 Chester Blvd in Richmond, Indiana.

This event is an opportunity to learn about the wide array of benefits, programs and services that the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs offers to Veterans, their families, survivors, caregivers, and other beneficiaries.   Speakers from the Department of Veteran Affairs  will discuss various topics, to include but not limited to the fully developed claim process, access to medical and mental health treatment,  legal, educational, and community resources available to Veterans. A primary goal of this event is to facilitate ongoing, collaborative working relationships among all VA administrations and staff offices, Veteran-centric offices in other federal agencies, and faith-based, nonprofit, and community leaders and organizations.

Through this event, you—as a faith-based/community member that works with Veterans—will also have the opportunity to educate VA staff about concerns facing Veterans in your local community.

We ask that you please use your network resources to promote this outreach event.
