This is a past event that showcased the achievements of Indiana’s award-winning student veterans’ organizations (SVOs) from three years of organization plan competitions. The competition’s open house format provided a great opportunity to learn more about student veterans. Guests were welcome to attend all or part of the day’s activities. Operation Diploma invited six SVOs to present their achievements to a panel of expert judges before a live audience on Sat., Oct. 27 at the NCAA Headquarters.
The SVO Hall of Fame was the culmination of seven previously-held grant competitions sponsored by Operation Diploma. Created in 2009, these events were called the Operation Diploma Student Veterans' Organization (SVO) Organizational Plan Competitions. They allowed SVOs to compete for up to $2,000 each to increase programming and generate awareness for student service members and veterans on their campuses. Successful SVOs demonstrated effective plans to address these issues, as well as campus and community engagement. Participants in the Hall of Fame Competition were chosen from the highly-ranked participants in the organizational plan competitions.
Participating SVOs included:
- Ball State University
- Indiana University Southeast
- Ivy Tech Bloomington
- Ivy Tech Sellersburg
- Purdue University
- The University of Evansville
